Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood will perform at this Sunday’s American Music Awards on WCJB-TV20.

Speaking of Jason… these “to be continued” albums seem to be the new thing with Thomas Rhett and Eric Church releasing two- and three-part albums.  Jason’s album Macon is out now, but the rest of the album, Georgia, won’t be available until next year.

Michael Ray tells us the story behind his song “Whiskey and Rain.”  “’Whiskey and Rain’ is about going through this breakup that you know it’s going to get better, but you’ve just got to live through it, you’ve got to go through the heartache, and nothing heals a heartbreak like good whiskey and good rain,” he tells us.  “You get through it all, and the next day the sun’s going to rise, and it’s a new day.”

This helped an artist light a fire under his career… Walker Hayes says that the pandemic helped him write a bunch of new music.  He said he had to pull from life experiences, and that doesn’t happen much on the road, so it was good to be home and collect life and store it in the vault.
