Kelsea Ballerini says that she’s a HUGE fan of Keith Urban. She has a picture from the CMT Awards when she was 15 years old with her reaching across the barricade to shake his hand. She calls Keith “the best that country music has.”
Michael Ray has a number one with “Whiskey and Rain.” He tells us a little about how it came about. “We cut this song during COVID. I cut the vocals of this song in a closet of my tour manager’s house, and all the musicians were in different home studios,” he tells us. “To see it climb all the way up to the top of the charts and to see the fans embrace it, to see country radio embrace it, you know, I’m just very glad that the fans fell in love with it and have taken it to where it is.”
Chris Stapleton gave it the old college try, but music won out. He went through a year of engineering school at Vanderbilt and then two years of business school. He says the main thing he learned from both experiences is that he didn’t want to be an engineer or an economist.
