Ryan Griffin grew up in Ocala and worked on a sod farm as a kid. Since moving to Nashville at 17, he has been writing nonstop and not just for himself – he wrote Kelsea Ballerini’s hit “Dibs.” By the way, he’s also got a Music Business degree from Belmont University.
It’s been about five years since Frank Ray handed in his badge and left his job as a Las Cruces, NM police officer so he could pursue his dream of a career in country music. He said that leaving his family behind has been very hard, but they are very supportive of his musical aspirations.
Dillon Carmichael’s latest album had a little help from a famous friend: Jon Pardi. Jon co-produced seven of the songs on Son of A. Dillon says Jon is a wonderful producer and a well-rounded musician.
This guy comes from a family of pirates… Jackson Dean tells us about the pirates in his family. “My brother was a pirate for 10 years, and my sister was a pirate for a couple of years at least. I was a pirate for one year. It was like a kid’s thing in Annapolis, where you got, like, a 45-passenger boat and you go out in the bay and, you know, they’d go shoot water cannons at Pirate Pete and you go find treasure all around the bay,” he tells us. “It’s like theater, but like improve, so you can do whatever you want.”
