It was a big night for Lainey Wilson as she cleaned up at the CMAs on WCJB-TV20. She took home a total of five awards including the coveted Entertainer of the Year, making her the first woman to win the award since Taylor Swift back in 2011.
Chris Stapleton picked up his seventh win for Male Vocalist. Lainey won Female Vocalist. Rounding out the artist categories are Brothers Osborne for Vocal Duo and Old Dominion for Vocal Group.
Hardy didn’t do too shabby either, picking up musical event and music video along with Lainey for their song “Wait in the Truck.”
Luke Combs shares the award for Song of the Year for “Fast Car” with the woman who wrote the song and made it a hit back in 1988, Tracy Chapman. He also won Single of the Year.
And, not to be forgotten, a very emotional Jelly Roll won New Artist of the Year, presented by a just as emotional Lady A.
She totally fangirled on this one… Wynonna Judd was totally into Jelly Roll at last night’s CMA awards, but she really fangirled when she met Gwen Stefani.
