Christopher Alan Young “Chris Young” was born in 1985 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I have known Chris before he won Season 4 of Nashville Star in 2006 and before he was signed to a record deal with RCA Records after he won the singing competition show. He did shows locally in Gainesville when he was just starting out and I attended a few of them. So you can say we go back a longgggggg ways. In October of 2009 he finally got his first # 1 Country Song with “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song) and he has had many more since then including his most recent “Famous Friends” with his buddy Kane Brown. On August 29th, 2017 he was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Vince Gill. He was officially inducted by Brad Paisley. Chris Young is for sure one of the good guys in country music and he has always been appreciative of K-COUNTRY and his fans. Whenever he sees me at a concert he calls me out by my name and I saw him a few weeks ago at the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre with Mitchell Tenpenny. We were supposed to meet him outside his tour bus, but he saw that it was beginning to rain outside and he invited all of us onto his bus. He never made us feel rushed and told stories from his recent ACM Award show performance and his many times where he almost died. He also fixed us drinks and poured them himself for us and enjoyed doing it. He also autographed a tour poster for me. Chris has worked hard to earn the position he is in today as a touring headliner and the future is so bright for him ahead. Thank you Chris for always being such a good guy!
