Our country artists are remembering Toby Keith…

Chris Young says he was lucky enough to meet the late Toby Keith a couple of times on the road and to even open for him.  Chris had an even closer connection with Toby as his stepbrother worked for him doing lighting.

Mitchell Tenpenny says it’s hard to express the impact Toby Keith had on his life and his career.  He’s loved his music and his patriotism since he was a kid, and he was fortunate enough to go out on the road with Toby.  He said that the last time he saw him play, he got to hold his drink, toast him, and he remembers Toby telling him, “Keep doing your thing, keep killing it.”

Old Dominion’s Matt Ramsey calls Toby a “true pioneer of not only country music, but all music.”  He says that Toby made it look easy and he was always true to himself, calling Toby’s passing a truly devastating loss for music, in general.

Reba, a fellow Okie, talks about the passing of Toby Keith.
