Breland had a blast recording “Beers on Me” with Dierks Bentley and Hardy. He tells us that his mom and dad both sang in church and have huge, beautiful voices that everyone loves, while he was the shy kid who tried not to be noticed. He said between them and the rest of the church singers, it really helped him come out of his shell and realize how much he loves music.
Maren Morris says that her husband, Ryan Hurd, helped her realize she had postpartum depression after the birth of their son Hayes in March of 2020. She says it got a little better when Hayes was around six months old, and that her husband saying, “Are you okay?” snapped her out of her fog that she through was normal but wasn’t.
Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny tell us how their duet grew out of their friendship. “Our writing this song, ‘At the End of a Bar,’ I think it just kind of came together naturally of you and me hanging out being in Nashville around buddies,” Chris says. “Yeah,” agrees Mitchell. “I mean, the organic way, the good way. You know, we come to a bar just like this, Losers, hang out. It’s hard when you co-write with somebody because you’re asking someone to become vulnerable and open up. It’s way easier when we’re already buddies.”
He’s once got arrested for trying to steal records… Eric Church says that in his defense, they were his records. His ex-girlfriend in college took five of his records, three of which were Willie Nelson albums, when she dumped him. She wouldn’t answer her phone, so he showed up at 2AM on knocking on her window. He said that the cop told him that is stalking.
