He loves to hunt, he loves to fish, and he loves really good country songs,” he tells us. “And so, any time we get into a room together, even from the first time we ever hung out and tried to write, we had a lot in common. So, usually we’ll talk for like an hour, showing each other pictures of deer at our ranches or some fish we caught or something, and then we’ll get around to writing a song. And every time we’ve written, I’ve walked away really digging whatever came out of that session.”
