Dylan Marlowe says that people listen to country music because of the feelings the songs inspire. “I think we’re in a heartbreak time. Country’s always a sad thing but I think right now, people are really just in their feels and maybe it’s connecting that way. You see everybody blowing up with sad songs. I got into country for the sad songs, but I don’t want to write them all the time!”

Morgan Wallen and his lawyers are set to waive his preliminary hearing in the chair-throwing case heard round the world. This means that a jury will look at all the evidence and decide whether there is probable cause to proceed to trial.  Morgan is charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment, and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. The Grand Jury of Davidson County is expected to meet in January, so for this holiday season he gets a get-out-of-jail-free card.  We will know in the new year whether the jury thinks there’s enough evidence to indict him. Some say waiving the preliminary hearing could be a strategic decision, because Morgan’s lawyers want to give themselves more time to work out a settlement with prosecutors. But at least he doesn’t have to worry about it over Christmas.
