Why driving a golf cart landed a man in the Lake County jail

LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – People who should operate a golf cart: Tiger Woods, Happy Gilmore (maybe), Chevy Chase’s character in Caddyshack.

People who probably shouldn’t be operating a golf cart: this guy.

On Wednesday, June 26, deputies from the Lake County Sheriff Office (LCSO) were patrolling the area of Kings Cove in Fruitland Park.

Deputies say they received multiple complaints about people driving golf carts in an area where golf carts are not allowed.

During their patrol, deputies located someone illegally driving a golf cart on the roadway.

After conducting a traffic stop, deputies identified the driver as 40-year-old Nathan Foster.

They say Foster admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license. But, that’s not all.

Deputies ran a background check on Foster and say they found out his license had been suspended for driving under the influence.

Deputies arrested Foster and took him to the Lake County Jail, where he was issued two criminal traffic citations.

A check of the Lake County jail records show Foster has been booked into the facility three times since December. Foster was released within a few hours after this most recent incident.
