DUNNELLON, FL (352today.com) – One person died in a house fire early Monday morning in Dunnellon, according to Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR).
MCFR units were dispatched at 12:51 a.m. to the 20600 block of West McKinney Avenue after a 911 call reported a home fully involved in flames. Two people escaped the structure, while they say that one person was trapped inside.
MCFR says that firefighters arrived on scene at 12:55 a.m. and found the single-story, wood-frame home approximately 75% engulfed in flames. Crews began an aggressive fire attack and initiated a search for the missing person.
The fire was brought under control by 1:18 a.m., according to MCFR. One person was located inside the home and confirmed deceased.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The identities of those involved have not been released.
