Ocala Fire Rescue responds to multiple emergencies over the weekend

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to three different emergencies that occurred Sunday evening.

Firefighters responded to the 2600 block of Northwest First Avenue after a porch fire spread to the side of the home, causing damage to the home’s attic.

Firefighters say everyone got out safely thanks to working smoke detectors in the home. OFR is encouraging anyone who resides in the city of Ocala and needs a smoke alarm to request one online.

OFR and Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) also had to establish a landing zone for a helicopter from HCA Florida West Marion Hospital for a medical transport.

OFR also responded to a vehicle fire involving an RV on Southwest 2nd Street. No injuries were reported, however two dogs passed away from the fire.
