MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County deputies arrested a 62-year-old man on charges of sexually battering multiple juveniles. Deputies say some of his victims are under the age of 12.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), on Aug. 3, a detective received information that a child had been sexually battered by Anthony Outar. The victim told authorities that Outar took her to an abandoned home where he then forcefully removed her clothes and sexually battered her.
The victim stated that Outar gave her a phone charger and $100 and told her not to tell anyone about what happened.
After further investigation, detectives also discovered three more juveniles who stated that they were sexually battered by Outar.
According to the sheriff’s office, all of the victims had similar accounts.
“They described incidents that would occur in his vehicle, an abandoned home, and other places where he had an opportunity to be alone with them. On several occasions, Outar bought items for the victims and would take them places in order to dissuade them from disclosing the sexual abuse,” said a post on MCSO’s Facebook page.
Outar allegedly told one of the victims that a gang member would ‘shoot up her house and come after her’ if she shared what happened.
Outar was arrested on multiple felony charges including three counts of sexual battery on a victim younger than 12, two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim younger than 12, sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 but older than 18, tampering with evidence, one count each of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim older than 12 but younger than 16, and human trafficking for commercial sexual activity.
According to the sheriff’s office, Outar was previously arrested on Aug. 4, for sexual battery on a victim younger than 12. Due to the nature of the crimes and multiple victims, MCSO believes that there are possibly other juvenile victims. They are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Outar to contact detectives at 352-368-3535.
