LEESBURG, FL (352today.com) – Within hours of making security camera footage public, the Leesburg Police Department (LPD) received information helping them develop a suspect in a deadly convenience store shooting.
Detectives say they have identified and secured an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Alex Lopez of Wildwood in connection with the shooting death of a convenience store clerk.
The shooting happened Thursday around 9 p.m. at the Fast Stop Superette on Picciola Road.
Police say they have not been able to locate Lopez and are now working with local, state, and federal authorities to track him down. They say Lopez should be considered armed and dangerous.
