LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office says if you’re going to speed, you might not want to have drugs in your car.
Unfortunately, that advice did not reach a Port Orange man.
Here’s what deputies say happened on July 10.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) says a deputy was patrolling the Sorrento area around 1:00 a.m. when he says he clocked a driver going 67 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Road 44. The deputy pulled over the driver.
Once stopped, the deputy approached the vehicle and talked to the driver, 29-year-old Edward Riles.

Riles consented to a search of the vehicle.
At which time, deputies say they found a stash of approximately 60 grams of marijuana and 2 grams of cocaine.
According to LCSO, Riles claimed ownership of the marijuana but denied the cocaine belonged to him.
Riles was given a warning for the speeding violation and then transported to the Lake County Jail on two felony drug charges. He got out about four hours later on a $5,000 bond.
Court documents show Riles has been assigned a public defender and has pleaded not guilty. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 5.
