CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) arrested a couple they say were sexually involved with a minor.
CCSO says they received information in late July about 32-year-old Kendra Rose Metts and her husband, 47-year-old Jon Joseph Metts, of Inverness. They were said to be involved in a sexual relationship with a minor in Citrus County.
Deputies with the CCSO Special Victims Unit (SVU) began investigating the allegations. They say they obtained evidence that supported the claims brought against the couple, stating that the couple engaged in sexual activity “numerous” times both “individually and together” with the minor.
SVU detectives say they worked alongside the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office to obtain warrants for their arrest.
CCSO says the couple fled their home in Citrus County after hearing about the investigation. They say the United States Marshals Service located and arrested Kendra Metts in Gadsden, AL on August 27.
Kendra Metts (32) has been charged with:
- Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors (six counts)
- Possession of Child Pornography (one count)
CCSO says on September 4, the United States Marshals Service arrested Jon Metts in Summerfield, Florida.
John Metts (47) has been charged with:
- Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors (three counts)
- Possession of Child Pornography (one count)
CCSO says the husband and wife will be transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility where they will be held without bond.
“John and Kendra Metts are predators in the truest sense of the word and are a danger to our community. They were fully aware that their actions were illegal and immoral and still chose to manipulate the juvenile victim and use them for their own sexual gratification,” said CCSO Sheriff Mike Prendergast. “The CCSO will continue to work closely with our partners at the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office to seek closure for the victim.”
