Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office arrest man following traffic stop turned drug bust

GILCHRIST COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) arrested a man after they say they found drugs in his car during a traffic stop.

GCSO says they pulled over a blue Chevrolet pickup truck on Friday, Aug. 9, for a traffic violation in the area of Bell.

The deputy on the scene says he recognized 41-year-old Jason Anthony Morris from previous run-ins and knew he did not have a valid driver’s license.

During the investigation, the deputy says he found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Morris’ truck.

The deputy slapped the cuffs on Morris and took him to the Gilchrist County Jail.

Morris is currently being charged with:

  • Driving with a suspended license (felony charge)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He is being held on $20,000 bond.
