Gainesville Police arrest man for allegedly threatening to kill his mother

GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) arrested a man after his mother called them stating that “her son was trying to kill her.”

According to GPD, Bryan Howard threatened to kill his mother and then drove to her residence in the 3400 block of NW 54th Lane. When he arrived, police say Howard broke a window and began kicking at the front door of the home.

Howard’s brother, who was at the house, says he believed Howard was shooting into the home.  So, the brother fired multiple shots from the residence, according to a release posted on the police department’s Facebook page.

They say Howard took off and was later arrested by officers. The 36-year-old was charged with two counts of shooting a deadly missile into a dwelling and one count of attempted occupied burglary.
