GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Gators and Florida Credit Union (FCU) have launched their fourth annual “Beyond the Arc” campaign, teaming up with The Education Foundation of Alachua County to support students across the county. Throughout the 2024-2025 UF men’s and women’s basketball seasons, FCU pledges to donate $25 for every three-point basket scored by the Gators, whether at home or away, with a cap of $10,000.
Beatrice Cherry, FCU’s Senior VP of Marketing, expressed pride in the campaign’s mission: “Our support for educators goes back to our founding, and we’re honored to contribute to preparing students for success.”
Key events during the campaign include:
- December 21: The Annual Holiday Hoops Game against North Florida, with special giveaways and ticket donations for The Education Foundation.
- January 30: A teacher appreciation game featuring a Western theme, line dancing, and donated tickets for teachers during the UF women’s basketball game against Vanderbilt.
- March 1: A free throw challenge featuring a student competitor and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel.
Since the campaign’s inception, over $30,000 has been raised to benefit students in Alachua County. The initiative is coordinated by LEARFIELD’s Florida Gators Sports Properties, which oversees corporate sponsorships for UF’s Athletic Association.
