Citrus County deputies say woman tried to shoplift from Walmart during back-to-school event

CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) says a woman tried to snag a five-finger discount from Walmart during a back-to-school event over the weekend.

Deputies say the incident occurred at a Walmart in Citrus County while CCSO deputies were at a back-to-school event to help students prepare for the new school year.

Deputies say a woman made a bold move trying to steal merchandise from the store when it was covered up with so many members of law enforcement.

Deputies arrested 49-year-old Madie Andrews and charged her with retail petit theft.

Andrews was booked into the Citrus County Jail on a $500 bond.
