Bid on auction items! From concert tickets to incredible staycations and flyaway trips, every single dollar raised is not only used to fund cancer research and clinical trials at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, donations provide Bears to children to hold during treatment.
The Chemo Duck is an educational tool used by the medical team. To receive chemotherapy treatments, a port is inserted into the child via a medical procedure, and the Duck comes with a port to show the child what it looks like, the importance of keeping it clean, and gives the child an idea of what to expect during treatment.

Stop Children’s Cancer was founded in Gainesville in 1981 and has helped to raise more than $25,000,000!
Since 2011, when Stop Children’s Cancer shifted their focus from equipment and seed funding to supporting clinical trials, over 1500 trial accruals have taken place, including 461 patents in treatment trials and 854 on data/tissue banking trials.
This has led to incredible growth in the research department from 5 to 13 physicians working tirelessly to find much needed cures for childhood cancers. This growth has led to improved care and access to cutting-edge treatments and technologies for the children in our region.
In 2023, 102 consents from patients to participate in one or more of the clinical research studies were obtained. Currently Stop Children’s Cancer is supporting 168 trial accruals.
